Goettingen, Germany - A German man who has taken it upon himself to police traffic misconduct filed 5000 police complaints against his fellow citizens in 2015, an official in the Lower Saxon town of Osterode said.
The self-styled guardian of the law has filed a total of 50 000 police complaints since 2006 for offenses including parking in the wrong place, faulty lights, and having an obscured number plate.
Gero Geisslreiter, an official in the town of Osterode, said that the vigilante car inspector had filed one complaint against a local lawyer a total of 50 times.
The majority of complaints could not be processed however, Geisslreiter said, because they had arrived at the police station by fax machine without the relevant photo evidence.
