London - He's well-loved all over the world because he says it like it is and over the years has built an incredible following - Jeremy Clarkson is a motoring force of nature.
Former Top Gear host Clarkson has released his list of Top 10 cars in The Sunday Times Driving column.
Clarkson, who recently filmed the first studio episode of his new motoring show The Grand Tour, has no less than eight performance cars in his list.
8 performance cars
The remaining duo are a Volvo's XC90 and the Opel Zafira, a car no longer sold in Mzansi.
Of the Mercedes-AMG GT S, the 56-year-old said: "Behind all the racing paraphernalia and the Mercedes-Benz suede and silicone, this is a modern-day muscle car. You sense this when you drive it. It feels raw. Much more raw than any of the other cars you can buy for this sort of money. It feels - how can I put this? - extremely exciting."

Of Ford's Focus RS hatch: "With the new Focus RS, you know that after about 100 yards [of driving it] that Ford has created something very special. Its 257kW is enough to provide a meaty shove in the back when you accelerate and a growly 40-a-day rumble from under the bonnet.”
The criteria for making the broadcaster's list is pretty simple: the vehicles must possess something out of the ordinary. It might be its gadgetry, acceleration or its styling.
Jeremy Clarkson's Star Cars:
Mazda MX-5 Miata 2.0 Sport Recaro
Ford Mustang Fastback 5.0 V8 GT
Vauxhall Zafira Tourer 1.6 CDTi Tech Line
