Grand Tour host Richard Hammond seriously injured in crash

Switzerland - Former Top Gear host Richard Hammond has been airlifted after a serious car crash in Switzerland, the Mirror UK has reported.

The Mirror reported that Hammond had been filming for their show, The Grand Tour, with co-stars Jeremy Clarkson and James May. The incident took place on a road that was closed for the Bergrennen Hemberg race, said The Mirror.

Clarkson posted on Twitter that it was the biggest crash he's seen, and also the most frightening, but thankful that his friend Hammond appeared to be ok.

No further information on the star's injuries have yet been given.

The Mirror also reported that Hammond was airlifted and rushed to hospital after the fiery crash.
