• Audi South Africa's Trevor Hill to take up new role at the brand's headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany.

• Hill was the carmaker's Head of Brand for three years.

• The 58-year-old will work in the Audi Sport division.

The third personnel movement in the Volkswagen Group South Africa sees Audi SA's Head of Brand Trevor Hill move to Audi Sport at the brand's headquarters in Germany.

Last month we reported that Volkswagen SA boss Thomas Schaefer is now the global Skoda CEO and VWSA's Head of Brand Martina Biene has taken up a new role as of Head of G1 Baureihe (product management of A0 cars).

Hill brings to an end a three-year stint in his home country.  The 58-year-old realised a lifelong dream of coming back to his country of birth, to head up the Audi brand after leaving in 1997.

Hill has worked in Germany, Japan, China, South Korea and the Middle East, gaining invaluable experience in the Audi business in these international markets.

His new role at the global headquarters in Ingolstadt will see him take up a new position within the Audi Sport division, from 1 September 2020.

The carmaker say Hill assisted the brand in making good strides in terms of recognition within the premium segment and he has also been responsible for prioritising the introduction of key products to the local market in order to refresh Audi’s model range.

Trevor also re-introduced Audi’s participation in local motorsport where the brand had subsequently won the Global Touring Cars (GTC) Championship for Drivers and Manufacturers in 2017 and 2018.

"Trevor has always been an excellent team player and an ardent ambassador to the Audi brand," said Mike Glendinning, Sales and Marketing Director for Volkswagen Group SA.

"On behalf of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Group South Africa, we would like to thank him for his contribution to the Audi Brand in the local market and wish him well in his new assignment," Glendinning concluded.
