World's women lust after F-Type Coupe

  • F-TYPE Coupe gets Dream Car status
  • 20 female journalists say so
  • Car the judges would want

Jaguar's F-Type Coupe has topped the Women’s World Car of the Year competition 'Dream Car' segment and sister 4x4 the Range Rover Sport took top honours in the SUV class.

Tthe winning vehicles are chosen by a team of 20 female motoring writers from 15 countries, one of them South African.

'BUYING PUBLIC AGREES'

Available as a convertible and coupé, and with a selection of Jaguar’s potent, supercharged V6 and V8 engines, drivers get to have the dream car that suits them.

Richard Gouverneur, MD of Jaguar Land Rover SA, told Wheels24: “The F-Type is unmistakably a Jaguar in all departments: looks, performance, innovation and desirability. Being chosen as 'Dream Car' by this panel of accomplished judges is a great honour – and it’s great to see the buying public agrees with their verdict!"

The Range Rover Sport took top honours in the SUV class in judging which covers six categories: Family Car, Sports Car, Luxury Car, SUV, Budget Car and Green Car. Along with the usual judging criteria, which allows for consideration of practical and design facets of the vehicles, the voting procedure also considered each vehicle’s ‘wow’ factor, sex appeal, and value-for-money – aspects the judges deemed important to female car buyers.

This award is yet another trophy in the cabinet for the Range Rover Sport which went on sale in 2013. It has 54 accolades from around the world for, variously, use of light technologies, car-like handling on the road and its Terrain Response system.
