LOS ANGELES, California - Paul Walker's mother has petitioned to become the legal guardian of the late actor's teenage daughter, in accordance with his will.
Cheryl Ann Walker filed the guardianship petition in Los Angeles Superior Court on March 18 2014. It states that Meadow Rain Walker, 15, had been living with her paternal grandmother since Walker was killed in a fiery crash on November 30 2013.
The will of the Fast & Furious' actor called for his mother to become his daughter's guardian and for Walker's father to manage his estate, valued at possibly the equivalent of R250-million.
ALCOHOL PROBLEMS
Meadow Walker is the sole beneficiary of her father's estate.
Cheryl Walker's guardianship filing states that her granddaughter's mother is also living with her but is not an appropriate caretaker due to issues with alcohol.
The actor was killed when the Porsche sports car in which he was a passenger crashed and burst into flames. Investigators estimated the car may have been traveling more than 160km/h when it crashed, killing the actor and driver Roger Rodas, a business partner and friend.
