WRC: Ogier leads in Sweden

HAGFORS, Sweden - France's Sebastien Ogier held the lead in his VW at the end of Thursday's (Feb 6) action in the Rally of Sweden, second leg of the 2014 World Rally championship.

The defending World champion and winner in Sweden in 2013 was ahead of fellow VW drivers Andreas Mikkelsen of Norway and Jari-Matti Latvala of Finland.

ICY ROADS

Mikkelsen was 5.8sec back, Latvala 12.2sec off the pace, after a day which had six stages over 60km on icy roads and saw drivers cross the border into Norway.

Ogier and Mikkelsen have won six of the seven special stages since the start of the event on Wednesday evening (Feb 5) with Estonia's Ott Tanak winning stage five.

Ogier said: "I didn't expect to finish the day first after being first on the road this morning."
