CAPE TOWN - The threat of drunk drivers is very real in South Africa and in the Western Cape authorities are clamping down ever more on irresponsible drivers.
It's not often, however, that you see the sheer stupidity of drunk-driving despite the presence of nearby law enforcement - as this video shows.
Cape Town police were called to attend to a drunk driver forced to pull over by security vehicles on Giel Basson Drive near N1 City in Parrow on June 28 2014, reports Arrive Alive.
DRUNK DRIVER CRASH
While processing the drunk, police narrowly avoided being killed a by a second driver who, incredibly, smashed into the parked security vehicle nearby.
Dashcam footage by vehicle fleet technology specialists and Arrive Alive partner Fleetcam reveal the moments from the first drunk driver being questioned to the second crashing and and each stumbling out of the respective wreck.

According to Fleetcam: "We captured video from a security vehicle that pulled over a drunk driver in the early hours of the morning (28/06/2014).
"The security men got the police involved and while they where booking the drunk driver another drunk driver came speeding down the road and hit the security vehicle from behind almost killing those who were at the scene. We picked up a collision force of more than 4G."

WESTERN CAPE ROAD BLITZ
At the start of the Cape school holidays (June 27 2014) CApe provincial traffic enforcement cracked down on bad drivers.
Th transport and public works department reported that 22 alcohol-blitz roadblocks in the Western Cape stopped 2168 vehicles as part of a road-safety campaign.
