Top Gear Fest '14 to rock KZN

Durban's 2014 Top Gear Festival is said to be bolstering its team to ensure it delivers one heck of an event for it third visit to KZN - and there'll be a new street track.

The layout will bring the action even closer to the spectators: it will loop back on itself along Battery Road so the new grandstand positions will create a stadium feel.

From the moment the sun rises on June 21 and 22 2014 to when it sets there will be non-stop action right in front of the crowds.

30 DRIVERS, 30 FAST CARS

On track there will be plenty for spectators to get excited about: more competitive racing action. The newest and most exciting action will take the form of an all-new Time Attack Invitational in which 30 of South Africa’s bravest drivers will take on each other in 30 of South Africa’s fastest cars.

The current Stig will be unleashed in a variety of cars on power laps synonymous with the Top Gear TV shows. A spokesperson said: "This high-octane entertainment is bound to have fans on the edge of their seats."

Also new for 2014 will be a parade of Porsches and Ferraris – thanks to KZN car clubs. Competition winners will be able to experience hot laps around the street circuit.

"Visitors," the spokesperson added, "are encouraged to book early to avoid missing out on the most exciting event on this year’s entertainment and motoring calendar."

Visitors with grandstand tickets must attend their street-circuit show at either 9.30am or 1.30pm on either of the two days and organisers encourage early arrival.

Grandstand seats are included in the SuperSport Elite and Superior ticket packages and are available for people with Standard and Basic tickets at R200/person via the festival website.
