LONDON, England - The UK Daily Mail has reported that a 25-year-old Mini with only 21km on its odometer has been put up for sale. Price: The equivalent to R323 000.
According to the Mail the previous owner, a farmer, bought two special-edition Minis for his sons when they were just babies with the intention of giving the cars to them as 21st-birthdaypresents.
When that time came his sons were too tall for the cars so he sold one to the British Mini Club. The other, however, remained in storage. Now it's out of storage and up for sale.
MINI 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION
The cars were part of 3000 special vehicles assembled the Longbridge in Birmingham, central England, to mark the 30th anniversary of Mini production in 1989.
The unit up for sale has its original handbook still wrapped in its packaging and has not even been registered since it rolled off the assembly line in 1989.
It has a Mini 30 crest on the bonnet, special alloy rims and a Mini 30 design on the boot and sides. It’s powered by a 998cc four-cylinder engine and a four-speed manual transmission.
