More than 1100 bikes and 1600 bikers gathered in Beaulieu at the National Motor Museum for the fifth annual 2014 Motorcyle Ride-In.

LONDON, England – More than 1600 bikers zipped up their leathers and revved up more than 1100 bikes for Beaulieu’s fifth annual Motorcycle Ride-In.

The mass of bikes droned through the New Forest en route to Beaulieu to park up and become part of a fantastic display in the grounds of the National Motor Museum on Sunday, July 13 2014.

Hundreds of motorbikes of all makes and models were on display, from classics to modern and custom while a number of trade stands were selling accessories and clothing.

The Southampton Harley-Davidson dealer put on a display of new machines and accessories in the Display Marquee and organised a ride-in of 50 Harleys, which included members of the New Forest Harley-Davidson Owners’ Club.

Beaulieu’s Events Manager Judith Maddox said the crowds were treated to a virtuoso stunt performance by Beaulieu favourite and three times British Trials Champion, Steve Colley, who did a running commentary while performing acrobatic tricks. He was followed by the Hampshire based children’s motorcycle display team, The Tigers, whose ages range from just five years old to 15.

Visitors were invited to vote for their favourite bike in the ‘People’s Choice’ award and this went – for the second year - to Nigel Herring from Didcot, Oxfordshire, with his Suzuki Hayabusa.

Maddox said: “Customising his gleaming machine has been a 14-year labour of love for Herring with the tyres now the only original feature. But he does leave himself time to enjoy riding it as well and the bike has now clocked up over 75 640km.”

Herring was presented with a Beaulieu Trophy by Steve Colley. The next Motorcycle Ride-In is scheduled for July 12 2015.
