Images of Peugeot’s next-generation hatchback have been captured as the model is tested in Europe.
While remaining a compact hatchback, the new 308 appears to be significantly longer and wider than the outgoing model.

The new model adopts the French automaker’s new design language first seen on the new 208 shown earlier in 2012.
Expect the model to be powered by a range of economical four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines capable of between 67kW and 120kW, with a 150kW GTI variant in the works.
Though our spy images show the new model in four-door guise, the new 308 will later be available in two-door, convertible and estate versions.
The second-generation 308 is expected to make its official debut at the Frankfurt auto show in September 2013 or in Geneva in March 2014.
