The next BMW X5 will grow significantly in length and will feature a longer roof. This is necessary to distance the new model from its (slightly) smaller sibling, the X3, which had to grow a bit to make room for the new X1.
The extra length will enable the next X5 to add an option of a third row of seats making the future X5 a seven-seater.

The prototype spotted in testing was powered by a V8 engine but a Hybrid will certainly be offered too.
The BMW X5 will be launched 2013.
