BERLIN, GERMANY - The current Mercedes-Benz SL was release in late 2011 and now our spysters have got up close and personal with the code-named R231 SL facelift.
The 2016 model will have changes to its radiator grille, bonnet and front apron. Changes to the rear are not as drastic but expect thinner tail lights, a new bumper and redesigned exhaust tips.

As far as the engine line-up is concerned, the 2015 SL has already welcomed the new SL400 powered by a twin-turbo V6 capable of 245kW.
Nonetheless, we might see the upcoming AMG Sport range touch the SL. Mercedes intends to double AMG sales by 2020 and the AMG Sport will play an important role in this.
Together with the S-Class and the G-Class, the SL has always been the apple of Mercedes’ eye, so while the cabin transformation will be limited expect Mercedes to up the ante on the premium level.
As for a roadster, expect this to bow in in 2016 as a 2017 model.
