SPIED: Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Mercedes-Benz next C-Class has been spotted free of camouflage and in showroom trim as the German automaker ends its winter testing in Scandinavia.

Our spy shots make it possible to get a first impression of how the final model will appear. One of the photos shows the layout of the front lights, which is mimics the recently updated E-Class.

What we can see of the grille and headlights hints to the styling of the new A-Class and CLA. It's a little too early to confidently predict the engine options that the next generation C-Class will employ.

There have been rumours that Mercedes-Benz is developing three-cylinder engines but it's more likely the C-Class will recieve four-cylinder units, that would reduce the engine to operating on just two-cylinders when less power is needed.

What can be predicted is that the C-Class will be getting hybrid options. If the products already offered by the German manufacturer are any indication, we should see the petrol and diesel units coupled with an electric motor that develops around 20kW.

The model is due to be launched either later in 2013 or early 2014.
