BMW is testing a prototype SUV that will become the production X4 to be revealed at the October 2014 Paris auto show.
BMW previewed a concept at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show Show and in February 2014 a prototype was spotted undergoing testing in Europe.

The X4 shows minimal camouflage and gives good indication of how the final product will look.
The X4 will make a dynamic entry into a market with but a few engine options.The first units will probably come in 35i and 28i guise with turbocharged three and two-litre engines.
Judging by the fact that it has only two exhausts on one side, the X4 spotted in testing could be the 28i.
