Alfa Romeo is testing its new 4C Spider, convertible shown at the 2014 Geneva auto show and whose hardtop coupe sister is due in South Africa in July 2014.
Wheelsd24's spying lensmen shot these images of the stunning two-door with minimal disguise.
The 4C Spider has the same design as its coupe sibling but comes with a canvas top and carbon-fibre rollover bars, windscreen frame and spoiler.
The drop-top Spider is 60kg heavier than the coupe.

The Geneva concept had a central dual-exhaust system with titanium and carbon tailpipes provided by Akrapovic. The concept also had carbon-fibred clamshell headlights, restyled alloy wheel rims and Pirelli tyres.
Each will make it into the production model.
TURBO POWER
The 4C Spider has the same engine as its coupe counterpart – a 1.75-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit capable of 176kw/350Nm, driving power to the rear wheels via a dual-clutch six-speed TCT gearbox.
The 4C Spider is capable of 0-100km/h in 4.5sec and top speed of 250km/h.
The Alfa Romeo 4C will arrive in South Africa in July 2014; the Spider variant will go into production in 2015
