SA's best-selling cars: Volkswagen’s popular Polo duo take top spots in June

The Volkswagen Polo Vivo topped the list as the best-selling passenger car in South Africa during June 2019.

The popular Vivo, which managed to sell off 2571 units, comprehensively outsold its Polo sibling; the more premium Polo only managed 1887 units to secure second place on our list.

Behind the Polos are the Toyota Fortuner (1410 units) and Renault Kwid (1056 units).

Still strong sales

The Ford EcoSport made a relatively large jump to the top half of our list with a respectable 819 units sold. Slow sales by rivals in June meant compact SUV could leapfrog a few positions.

Behind the EcoSport in sixth place is the Toyota Corolla Quest on 745 units, followed by the Datsun Go on 723 units. Hyundai’s i20 made its return to the list with 670 units sold, some eleven units ahead of the Toyota Etios (659 units).

The all-new Toyota Rav4 rounds out the top ten with 653 units sold in June.
