Renault has had a stellar month during the month of May. Naamsa has reported a whopping figure of 1 863 sales.

The little Kwid city car continues to make inroads in the tough South African economy. The French automaker moved 634 units during last month.

It really is no surprise as the Kwid is one of the most affordable cars in the local market. The Kwid is one of those cars that makes owning a vehicle for the first time affordable for families or young motorists.

It has a price tag of just R134 900 for the entry-level 1.0-litre Expression model and equates to an installment of just R1 999 per month.

The Sandero continues to sell volumes, coming in as the second-most sought after vehicle in the Renault stable with 535 units sold.

The automaker has recently launched the new Sandero Stepway Plus, and Wheels24 currently has one on test. The range is priced from R179 900 to R213 000. Monthly installments equate to R2 799 per month for the base model.

The latest offering has an enhanced exterior design and bespoke interior features, including trendy new materials, and has a class-leading boot space  of 292 litres.

But the best part? It has a low fuel consumption from the F1-inspired 66kW Turbo engine enabling a frugal economy from only 5.2litres/100km.

The Duster continues to be another favourite, and the automaker has recently launched a new 4x4 version for the range. The nifty off-roader has moved 341 units off showroom floors in May.
