SA vehicle sales: Here's a look at how many cars each local manufacturer sold since January 2018

Volkswagen and Toyota continue to assert their dominance on vehicle sales locally, with the Japanese brand constantly selling more than 10 000 units in five of the six months this year.

Ford and VW have also posted healthy figures since the start of the year, with the best month's figures coming between February and March where 5654 and 5595 units were soldrespectively.

Hyundai, Nissan, and Ford holding their own

While Toyota and VW show the rest of the competition a clean pair of heels, Ford, Nissan, and Hyundai provide the rest of the stronger contingent with a constant flow of units.

A factor to keep in mind is, while the numbers of some manufacturers are low, some are more expensive than others. Bentley, for example, produce single digit figures every month, but each of those models cost more than a couple of million rands each.



In the table below, we have tallied up the total of vehicles sold monthly, and also combined monthly figures to give us the total vehicles sold by manufacturer.
