SA car sales | VW, Toyota trade punches in October

Continuing the customary trend, the Volkswagen Polo Vivo was again the best-selling vehicle in October 2019. VW managed to sell a stellar 2937 units last month, well clear of the bigger Polo on 2098 units.

In third place is the Toyota Corolla/Quest with 1812 units sold, ahead of the 1265 EcoSport units sold by Ford on the list.

Another VW to make a splash in the list for best-selling passenger cars, is the recently-launched T-Cross. In only its second month, it managed to build on the some-800 units sold during September. In October VW managed to move 1132 units to have the vehicle slot into fifth place.

However, Toyota continues its epic run in the top ten with the following: Yaris (1065 units, sixth), Fortuner (1018 untis, eighth), and Etios (957 units, tenth).

The Renault Kwid sold 1056 units to secure seventh place, while the Ford Figo goes ninth with 963 units sold.
