Cape Town - Volkswagen South Africa launched two significant new models in January and February. The all-new Polo and Polo Vivo made colourful debuts in Mzansi.
In January, VWSA hosted more than 200 VIP guests and media at its factory in Uitenhage to celebrate the culmination of the R6.1-billion invested to bring the new Polo and Polo Vivo to the South African Market.
Both previous generation Polos dominated sales since their launch in 2010, with the Polo Vivo followed by the Polo being the best and second best-selling passenger cars for seven consecutive years.

The new bigger and more premium Polo was purchased by some 2847 customers whilst the new budget Polo Vivo was able to find some 2044 homes.
The Vivo was only launched in mid February making this a remarkable sales figure.
Matt Gennrich, General Manager Group Communications at VWSA, said: "January was a difficult month for us, as despite having essentially depleted the 2017 Polo and Polo Vivo stock, we knew that there was a strong pent up demand for the new Polo and Polo Vivo, but we had to stick to our launch planning. February’s sales figures bear testimony to that and we are delighted that the new cars have been so well received by our customers.
"This bodes well for the Polo and Polo Vivo and our determination to remain the best-selling passenger car brand in 2018, which would make it for the eighth time in a row."
