Johannesburg - The Toyota Hilux continued its dominance, beating its closest rival, the Ford Ranger, by more than 1000 units. We list the top selling bakkies in March 2018.
The Hilux, with 3825 units, is once again the best-selling vehicle in South Africa. The Ranger, the Hilux’s only real competition in bakkie-mad SA, amassed 2753 units.

In third place, some way behind the leaders, is the Nissan NP200 with 1562 units sold, ahead of the Isuzu KB (1273). In fifth place is the rugged Nissan NP300/Hardbody (745).
Nissan sold a huge number of Navaras; at 447 marks its highest sales month since its launch in March 2017. This could be attributed to new rear-wheel drive models added to the range.
In seventh place is the Toyota Land Cruiser pick-up (262), ahead of the Mahindra Scorpio pik-up (196).
The Volkswagen Amarok is in ninth place (176) while the GWM Steed completes the top ten with 163 units.
