Cape Town - In the compact crossover/SUV market, the Ford EcoSport established itself as a segment leader. The SUV also regularly appears as a top-10 contender among best-selling vehicles in South Africa.
In October 2017, the EcoSport again underlined its tag as another fan favourite when 1047 units were sold. The Hyundai Creta, which slots into second position, barely reached the 400-mark with only 395 units finding new owners.

Making an impact
Lauded for its good all-round package, the Mazda CX-3 managed to make the podium in third place after securing a sales total of 294 units.
The Renault Captur captured the interest of 229 buyers last month, beating the funky Suzuki Ignis (129 units) in fifth place. Honda’s BR-V was sixth with 95 units sold.
The giant-slaying Suzuki Jimny ended the month on 88 units sold, just edging out the Opel Mokka X (83 units) in eighth place.
Mitsubishi’s ASX is in ninth place with 53 units, one ahead of the Mahindra KUV100 (52 units) in tenth.
