A 3.0 TDI is joining the range-topping 4.2-litre V8 engine. The launch of the A8 3.0 TDI quattro also signals the introduction of the new trapezoidal single frame grille to the A8 range.
The V6 engine in the A8 3.0 TDI quattro is the same as in the A4 and A6 but kicks out more power. It is rated at 171 kW at 4 000 r/min and produces an 450 Nm of torque between 1 400 and 3 250 r/min.
This model sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 243 km/h.
Audi claims that the A8 3.09 TDI has an overall fuel consumption of 8.4 litres per 100 km, which means that the car has a range of over 1 000 km on a single tank of fuel.
In line with its premium status, the A8 3.0 TDI is equipped with a high level of standard equipment which includes, amongst others, adaptive air suspension, DVD-based satellite navigation, bi-Xenon headlights, leather upholstery, electrically operated front seats, to name but a few.
