DRIES VAN DER WALT
After many years of performing VIP escorts with the Tshwane Metro Police I have relied on my work's BMW GS. It was not a "poer-poer"* to use from A to B.

I've ridden the new BMW 1200 GS and I'm glad to see nothing has changed. It's comfortable and has more than enough power to get you out of trouble when it's needed. Its performance and brakes are incredible.

BMW is known for its reliability and some dealers, such as Bavarian Motorcycles in Pretoria, offer excellent after sales service.

PEACE OF MIND

After all, when you buy a bike, which is an enormous investment, you must take all this into consideration and you must have peace of mind that this bike can take you anywhere.

The “Long Way Down” with actor Ewan McGregor, is a prime example of the BMW 1200 GS's performance and what it had to go through on its journey to Cape Town.

What other bike can boast a similar achievement? Almost none of them.

I just wish I could get one for myself now that I've been relegated to the office but finance, finance and finance....

My vote for the 2014 SA Bike of the Year definitely goes to the BMW GS.  Without a doubt, it's the best yet.
