VALENCIA, Spain - Looks like it's going to be an amazing 2014 Spanish MotoGP on Sunday (Nov 9) with super-determined Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) up there on pole and hotshot Marc Marquez (Honda) down in fifth.

Did Marquez have a problem out there on the Valencia track? Is he looking for more of a challenge from tomorrow's race near the Mediterranean Sea? Who knows, but team mate Dani Pedrosa is up on the front row in third position with Ducati's Andrea Iannone between him and The Doctor.

It's going to be tight with only 0.6sec covering the top to starters.

Rossi has not had a pole start since Le Mans in 2010.

Marquez, who is aiming to break the record of 12 wins in a season that he shares with Australian great Mick Doohan, was looking strong but crashed on his final lap and is fifth on the grid.

The battle is on for second place in the Riders' championship with Rossi on 275 points and his Yamaha team mate Jorge Lorenzo 12 points behind.
