Rosebank hijack: Watch the police chase

JOHANNESBURG, Gauteng - Police arrested three hijackers after a car chase and shootout with police in Rosebank, Johannesburg on Friday March 6.

Now police have released a video of the high-speed, shots-fired, chase through traffic.

At at 11:40am the Gauteng Flying Squad and Johannesburg SAPS chopper picked up the tracking signal of a hijacked VW Jetta with the assistance of Tracker.

TWO COLLISIONS - THEN A TREE

The vehicle was spotted in Rosebank in Johannesburg's northern suburbs and a chase / shootout ensued.

The suspects collided with two other vehicles and then crashed into a tree in Rosebank as they took a right turn way too fast.

One of those arrested had a leg wound. Two illegal firearms were seized.

    Good work SAPS, sadly this is where their work ends. At this point these filthy vermin scumbags are in the hands of the courts. They will be released on bail for about R1000, and committing the same crime within days.

    But the police were to reckless, they did have to shoot like that in a busy road like that I just feel that they endangered other people's lives
