Renault to buy Jaguar?

According to L'Expansion, a French business magazine, Renault is considering in acquiring Jaguar.

However, Renault is denying the rumour despite the fact that the carmaker's top boss Carlos Ghosn recently said that it could consider developing a luxury brand.

Ford bought Jaguar in 1989 but hasn't achieved much success with the legendary British brand. Jaguar is currently showing no real growth t and Ford is facing some serious cutbacks.

L'Expansion also reported that Renault had talks with Volvo, which is also Ford owned, but without success. Another rumour is that Renault could buy Saab from troubled General Motors.
