In the A6 and A8 the potent 4.2-litre FSI engine kicks out 275 kW, whereas in the RS4 it develops 310 kW.
The power of the eight-cylinder engine is transferred via 6-speed tiptronic transmission and quattro permanent four-wheel drive.
The Audi A4 family will also be extended with a 125 kW version of Audi's 2-litre TDI engine. The maximum torque of 350 Nm is available at between 1 750 and 2 500 r/min.
This four-cylinder power unit propels the A4 sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds while its top speed is 228 km/h.
Its average fuel consumption is just 5.8 litres of diesel per 100 km.
According to Audi SA spokesperson Rudi Venter these new Audis will find their way here later this year.
