Parts support: Mopar now in SA

The Chrysler group has launched its Mopar parts distribution centre in Pretoria.

The 19 000 square-metre facility will distribute more than 50 000 part numbers to 80 delivery points in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia.

Mopar is Chrysler’s service, parts and customer-care brand and distributes 280 000 parts and accessories. With the creation of the industrial alliance between Chrysler and Fiat, Mopar is extending its global reach, integrating service, parts and customer-care operations.


President and chief executive officer of Mopar, Pietro Gorlier, said:  “We will strategically grow our parts distribution network to support our brands and customers.

 “The centre will further improve service to our dealers, distributors and customers in this region. We will continue to look for opportunities to support our growth.”

Mopar’s global portfolio includes more than 500 000 parts and accessories distributed in more than 130 countries and is the source for genuine parts and accessories for Chrysler Group and Fiat brands.

    It's brilliant that MOPAR is in SA, but I fear it won't be all good news for South Africans. We will propably be ripped off with prices and they'll blame the echange rate.

    Will they also be bringing the Performance Parts Catalog they make available in the US?
