No wedding bells, so Nicole dumps Lewis

LONDON, England -  Singer Nicole Scherzinger has sensationally split from Formula 1 Drivers' champion Lewis Hamilton, according to widespread media reports, after seven years.

The romance was, however, marred by public highs and private lows - punctuated by periods apart.

In a story published by The Sun in Britain and across Europe, the 36-year-old singer called time on the romance when 30-year-old Hamilton refused to wed and have children.

A source was reported as saying: "They've been fighting for months but things have got much worse. She finally had enough. Nicole knew Lewis had no plans to marry her, she's completely gutted and feels lost about her future."

WORK COMMITMENTS

The paper went on to say that both partners had denied any split. Friends say they have not been seen together for a few weeks and Lewis' last Instagram post of them both was a month ago with Nicole's just a few days before.

In December 2014 Lewis revealed that he and the Cats star had never talked about marriage because they were continuing to juggle their work commitments.

In a candid interview with The Sunday Times Style magazine, he confessed: 'We're in a good place. She's such a hard worker, and we inspire each other, but I don't think we've ever really discussed marriage.

'We're very much aware of the time together, and how precious time is. I think naturally, at some stage, that becomes a step. But we're trying to support each other while we do things we love.'

One newspaper quoted Lewis as saying that he thinks of littl4e else than beating his team mate, Nico Rosberg, in this year’s world championship.

Lewis said: “You hear about people who achieve a lot but then lose their focus and you wonder at what point does it fade off. I’m grateful that the fire is still there within me."

HARD PROCESS

Nicole admitted in 2014 that her battle with bulimia almost ruined her life.

The former Pussycat Doll went to extreme lengths to stay slim but it wasn't until she collapsed in her hotel room that she decided to kick the eating disorder that had ruled her body and mind for almost a decade.

Nicole claimed beating the illness had been a hard process because it had become like a ''drug'' to her.

Originally going public with their relationship in 2007, the couple briefly split in January 2010 when they had been together for 20 months, before later reconciling.

They then split again in late 2011, before giving their relationship another go in early 2012.

But the pair separated once again in July 2013, which prompted Nicole to break down in tears during her tenure on the X Factor.

However, by February 2014 things were back on... until now.
