More power for MV Agusta bikes in SA

JOHANNESURG, South Africa - Tests in South Africa by bikemaker MV Agusta technicians have, the company says, resulted in more power delivered more smoothly, faster acceleration and better fuel consumption.

Better engine mapping resulted from the tests, especially at altitude such as experienced in Johannesburg, for MV Agusta's three and four-cylinder F3 675 units.

Owners of the B3, F3, F4-MY13/14 and Rivale range of motorcycles, already proven around the world - including South Africa - now benefit from a mapping update specific to this country's unique conditions and the upgrade is free.

'HUGE BENEFIT FOR OWNERS'

The Italian company reiterated its commitment to the South African market and mentioned that it was delighted with the brand’s sales success here.

Craig Langton, dealer principal for the Cayenne Group, said: “The benefit from all this is huge for existing owners - and new customers. We now have increased power delivery, improved throttle response, much smoother power delivery and better fuel economy.

"Mapping updates are available regularly and can be downloaded directly to the motorcycle’s electronic control unit - free."

MV Agusta owners are urged to contact a dealer.

EXTREMELY CONFIDENT

Although the F3 800cc is often compared to the likes of the GSXR 750, ZX 636, Ducati 899 and other middleweights, Langton was extremely confident in saying that he believed the F3 800cc to be more comparable and quicker than the one-litre sport bikes on SA roads and race tracks.

Langton explained: “If you haven’t already or ever experienced the power and beauty of the MV Agusta machines for yourself it would be well worth a visit and test ride at your nearest dealer, said Langton.

“We also have an opening offer of R139 900 while stocks last on the new 2014 F3 675 to celebrate our past success in SA and our current position in the WSBK World SuperSport series, this opening price is a saving of R20 000 on the new model.”
