Last week VW unveiled the R32 featuring a 3.2-litre V6 engine with a power output of 182 kW. Although VW claimed this is the hottest Golf yet, another performance derivative is apparently under development.
As we revealed recently VW will also equip the Golf with the Passat's new 3.6-litre V6. This muscle engine develops 206 kW which will accelerate the Golf from 0-100 km/h in less than six seconds.
Other good news is that VW is also to ad a potent turbodiesel Golf, which will be badged the GTD. Again, VW will source the engine from its new Passat and will fit the latter's 2-litre TDI unit in the Golf.
This engine kicks out 125 kW at 4 200 r/min while torque is a whopping 350 Nm available between 1 800 and 2 500 r/min.
