More DZire: Safer Swifts for SA

Suzuki SA has changed its mind about anti-lock brakes and their non-installation on some versions of its 2014 entry-level Swift hatchbacks and DZire sedans.

At launch at the end of February 2014 the GL - but not the GA - models were equipped with anti-lock brakes to help keep the costs within reach of entry-level buyers. Two weeks later, and the automaker has confirmed that in fact all the new models will get the vital safety equipment.

'NO EXTRA COST'

National marketing manager at Suzuki Auto SA, Francois van Eeden, said: “It was always our intention to position our two new Swift models as compelling propositions in both economy and value terms.

“As it transpires, we have now been able to enhance the active safety levels offered by the two newcomers by adding ABS brakes to an already attractive, value-added package, and at no extra cost.”
