ALL OVER THE WORLD: Suzuki, including the South African arm, is recalling Swifts and SX4 units to fix wing-mirror screws. and Swift units in South Africa are affected by Suzuki's latest recall.

Suzuki Auto SA is recalling about 2000 cars as part of a global effort to prevent their wing mirrors rattling. About 280 000 vehicles are affected worldwide.

SX4 and Swift units produced from 2007 to 2009 are involved and Suzuki told Wheels24 that every customer would be contacted directly to arrange the fix.

Suzuki Auto SA spokesperson Megan McDonald said: “The recall is not safety critical. Three screws at the back of the side mirrors need to be replaced because vibration could cause them to loosen. This may cause the mirrors to rattle.”

No incidents had been reported and replacing the screws should take no more than 30 minutes..
