Seoul - South Korea's Ssangyong Motor said on Friday it had filed for court receivership to recover its business as it struggles with liquidity problems.

China's SAIC owns 51% of Ssangyong, South Korea's fifth-largest automaker.

SAIC had no immediate comment on the announcement.
