Jeep sales continue to soar

   • 18th consecutive month of growth
   • 176% increase versus June 2014.
   • 23 000 sales
   • Fastest-growing brand

LONDON, England - Jeep Europe has announced what it says is another record performance - for the 18th consecutive month sales there continued to grow with June being the best month with 8500 sales and a 176% increase over June 2014.

Jeep South Africa says: "Sales in South Africa have remained stable compared to the previous 12 months. Sales of the all-new Jeep Renegade are having a positive impact for 2015 and the Grand Cherokee remains the segment leader in its class.”

June was the best sales month yet in some major European markets with France up nearly fivefold and Spain and Italy up more than threefold over June 2014.

MOST SOLD VEHICLE

At product level in the UK, with more than 5400 units sold, the Jeep Renegade was significantly successful in June and is now permanently among the most-sold vehicles in its segment in some major European countries, being in the top five in Italy, claims the automaker.

The Grand Cherokee performance was as well positive. In June, compared with the same month in 2014, Jeep says, the vehicle had an 18% increase in sales in Europe, reaching the top position in its segment in key countries such as Italy, Switzerland and Poland.

An important contribution came as well from the iconic Jeep Wrangler whose sales in June grew by almost 50% over June 2014, with the UK up 79%, Germany up 60% and Spain up 57%.

KEY PLAYER

Jeep says the results of the second quarter were the best yet for the brand with 23 000 unit sales for the European region and an increase of 161% versus Q2 last year. With a total of almost 15 000 units, the Renegade played a key role, being in the top five in its segment in Italy, while the Grand Cherokee ranked in the top five in Italy, Switzerland and Poland in its segment.

In the first half 2015 versus the same period last year, Jeep sales increased by 174% in Europe to 45 000 with France the best-performing country (up 328% versus the same), followed by Spain and Italy.

Over the same period, a 168% increase on Cherokee sales was recorded with Switzerland being up 231%, Italy up 165% and Germany up 108%, while the Grand Cherokee remained steady in the top three positions in its segment in Italy, Switzerland and Poland.
