Midrand - Chrysler SA and Fiat Group Automobiles South Africa has announced the death of its marketing and communications head, Guy Andrew Franken.
Franken died on Friday (Sept 13) in Gauteng, after a short illness.
'HIGHLY RESPECTED'
Franken was highly respected in marketing circles. He spent almost his entire career in the motor industry and served for more than a dozen years as the marketing and communications manager for Chrysler SA. He played the same role for Fiat Group Automobiles SA for the past year. Franken also spent some time working at other local automakers, among them Toyota, Mercedes-Benz and Honda.
The Chyrsler group said: “Guy was a cornerstone of the success Chrysler SA has enjoyed over the years, and his contributions served to make CSA one of the highest performing business entities for worldwide. His legacy will be not only be the success of the brands he managed, but the success of all other automotive companies whose leaders studied and learned under Guy's tutelage.
“He will be missed terribly and will always be remembered for his personal and professional qualities that made for a genuinely unique individual.”
Funeral arrangements are still be be announced.
