Another record for Jeep global sales

DETROIT, Michigan - Jeep celebrated a 4% increase in global vehicle sales in 2013 - 731 656.

For a second consecutive year, Jeep has set a global sales record. 

Mike Manley, president and CEO of Jeep and Chrysler, said: “Jeep has recorded sales increases globally and in the US for four consecutive years, with back-to-back global sales records.

“Customers clearly appreciate the new Jeep line-up that delivers vastly improved on-road driving dynamics and fuel efficiency in addition to benchmark 4x4 capability.

“We are especially pleased with the Jeep Cherokee which sold more than 25 000 in its first two months in showrooms.

'DOING WELL ABROAD'

Jeep sales rose 26% in the Asia-Pacific region in 2013.  In China – the world’s largest automobile market – they grew 29%.

Sales globally were led by the Grand Cherokee (255 005, global; 174 275 US), followed by the Wrangler (210 715 / 155 502), Compass (121 626 / 52 993), Patriot (103 577 / 75 979) and Cherokee (31 330 / 25 786)
