Hot laps in Brazil as Nico takes win

SAO PAULO, Brazil - It began with a stunning start and ended with private races between Mercedes' Nico Rosberg and between Ferrari's Kimi Raikonnen and Felipe Massa - with Rosberg the winner.

A whole 71 laps of nail-biting driving with Rosberg leading all the way, including the last 20 laps with team mate Hamilton trying unceasingly to find a way past. He didn't make it, but his second place leaves the Drivers' championship still in doubt for the final race in Abu Dhabi.

Going into that race, the points difference between the only two drivers who can take the trophy is down to 17 points.

PODIUM FOR MASSA ON HOME TURF

Hamilton finished 1.4sec behind Rosberg, the pair setting an F1 record of 11 1-2 finishes in one season and equalling Ferrari's record of 15 wins by one team in a single season.

AFP reports that Felipe Massa returned to the podium in front of his home crowd with third place for Williams, though 41sec behind the winner.

The final race in Abu Dhabi on November 23 will offer double points for the first time - 50 for the winner - but Hamilton now needs only second place to take his second Drivers' title.
