Scooters will always appeal to the masses, especially with rising fuel prices, but Honda has an answer with the launch of its125cc Elite motor scooter.

Honda calls the Elite “modern, with sporty styling with comfortable seating, strong and responsive performance in a sleek and highly economical scooter”.

The bikemaker also says that quick trips to the shops and other errands are the Elite's specialty, thanks to generous under-seat storage big enough to stow a helmet. It also has front lockable storage and a rear carrier bracket.

The 125cc has a claimed fuel consumption of about 40km/litre.

It’s available in three colours:  red, white and silver.

The Honda Elite is sold with a riding course, a year's roadside assistance, two years unlimited-distance warranty and a free first service.
