The guys at Donut Media take a look at some of the oldest roads in the world, some of them following the same route as centuries ago.

Large parts of roads in Rome follow the same blueprint as people did all those years ago. A stop street in the city could have been a place where some gladiator drove his chariot.

Historical significance

Road surfaces have evolved massively over the centuries with dirt roads and pebble-stone forming part of the evolution. The latter is still prominent in certain Italian cities.
