It's a master of withstanding pressure - without it, engines stall and fluids leak. It's time to sing the praises of the humble O-ring.

The often overlooked seal (or O-ring) plays an important part around a car's engine and prevent liquids from escaping through gaps between joined parts.

Withstanding the pressure

It is small, inexpensive and also comes in a range of sizes spending most of its lifespan being stretched, bent and then inevitably needing to be replaced.

Whether you drive an expensive Ferrari or budget Toyota, without a fully-functional O-ring, your car wouldn't perform the same and things will get extremely hot under the bonnet.
