It shouldn't come as a surprise that automakers are often mentioned in popular songs, after all, owning an expensive ride is a great status symbol for some.
Using data from Genius.com, reveal the top car brands mentioned in songs.
Gocompare.com analysed lyrics of the songs that made it to Billboard’s top 100 and any artist appeared on Hot 100 chart in the last decade.

• Mercedes-Benz is the most popular car brand in song lyrics - The luxury German automaker is mentioned by the likes of The Game, Future and Rick Ross. Next up is Bentley,Ferrari and Porsche.
• Migos loves to croon about car brands - The hip-hop group appear in the top five lists for three car brands. The trio grabs the top spot for singing about Audi and Toyot.
• Kanye West and Hyundai? Appearing in one of Kanye’s most famous songs of all time, Gold Digger, the artist raps ‘Win the Super Bowl and drive off in a Hyundai’.
• Gucci Mane and flashy rides - In July 2013, Gucci Mane revealed his ‘Red Bones’ car collection, which included a Jeep Cherokee, a wide body Dodge Charger and a Bentley Mulsanne but in his song 'mouth full of gold' he raps 'Brand new Ferraris, Bugattis when we shinin b***'.
• The most popular genre for car brands? - It comes as no surprise that the music genre that loves car brands most is rap. Rappers are the most inclined to create lyrics that include all of the car brands analysed, including Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, Porsche and Lamborghini.
