There's just something about a nice set of aftermarket wheels that snatch's the attention of passersby that a factory wheel could never do.
Depending on the car, dealer selling the wheels and the desired size, you can pick up an aftermarket replica from anywhere between R5 000 to R25 000.
Breaking the bank
Not that there is anything wrong with buying a replicated wheel but if you're one of those petrolheads that pride themselves on authenticity and paying for the real thing no matter the cost, then this list is worth checking out.

Buying such an expensive set of wheels comes with a high risk factor, especially in South Africa where potholes and ditches lie in wait to buckle and scratch your prized-possessions.
Deep pockets
Majority of these rims are not suitable for normal passenger cars because of the sizes they are offered in. It caters more for the luxury SUV, and top-end exotic offerings where it already comes out of the factory with a wider wheel.

1. Nutek Forged - An estimate price of R114 000
There's a reason these wheels are so pricey. Not only are they made with high-quality materials but the buyer can customise it to his/her liking, meaning each design is practically brand new.
Everything from Bentley to Ferrari, and Toyota sit pretty on these babies.
2. Forgiato Estremo - An estimated price of R108 000
Sizes for this wheel start from 18-inch and goes right up until a massive 34-inch. You have the freedom to design and customise a wheel to your specification.
Besides the Estremo series they also have a variety of wheels to choose from, leaving the choice with the customer.
3. Forgiato Basamento - An estimated price of R87 000

This is another option from the folk at Forgiato. The Basemento falls under the Estremo range and has been discontinued but can still fetch a pretty penny if you really want it.
4. Lexani Forged - An estimated price of R76 000
Lexani is a well-know name in the wheel industry and has been since the 90's. You will most likely see one of their creations on a bulky SUV or flashy exotic.
Sizes also start from 18-inch with a vast array of designs to choose from across various wheel series.
5. Savini Wheels - An estimate price of R73 000
A brand new set of Savini's BM wheel series is actually pretty affordable with pricing starting from R6 000. Of course the price goes up depending on the series, design and concave you're after.
