From the more expensive set of wheels that can cost anywhere between R4 000 to R 15 000 and something as simple as a 'Nos bottle' keyring can form part of what you can get. Or, a car-cleaning kit, or even a voucher for a full valet would be most appreciated.

Here are a few options to get their heart racing

1. LEGO Technic Porsche 911 RSR Building Kit

This will definitely keep any petrolhead busy for some time trying to assemble the iconic Porsche 911 over the festive season. Once everything is put in place, the end product can be displayed anywhere to show family and friends all the hard work you went through putting everything together. These are pricey thought and can cost anything from R2600 or R7000.

2. Puma Mercedes AMG Petronas Future Kart

There is nothing like a new pair of kicks to wear doing the festive season. The signature pair of Mercedes AMG Petronas Future Kart from Puma will make sure you get where you need to be - fast. People will know exactly who your favourite brand is just by looking down. These can be picked up for under R2000.

3. Branded T-shirts

Because Christmas is right on our doorstep, importing anything is a bit of a risk because you never know if the package will arrive on time. There are a number of companies that sell branded automobile memorabilia locally and at affordable prices too. Car-branded shirts can cost from R200 or more, and if you're ordering them online, don't forget to budget in your import costs. Most dealerships have in-house merchandise or online stores.

4. 1971 Le Mans film

Perhaps the most sacred racing event throughout the world - the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Take yourself back to the 70's in the time of Steve McQueen and blisteringly fast cars. Although there is a 2019 available, this is a great pre-cursor to experience racing back then and relived now.

5. Ferrari branded watch

If you're putting the racing look together with the above items, then a watch will complete the look. People will always want to ask you for the time just to catch a glimpse of the stunningly red piece of arm candy.
