Earlier in July, potential buyers had the chance to see James Bond's original 1965 Aston Martin DB5 at Sotheby's auctioneers in New York City.

In August, the gadget-filled car used in the James Bond movies Goldfinger and Thunderball is up for auction by Sothebys.

The auction house expects the Aston Martin DB5 could fetch $6-million.

The vehicle has 13 gadgets, including a nail dispenser to puncture the tires of pursuing vehicles, retractable machine guns in the front and a switch that alternates the license plate between Switzerland, Great Britain and France.

It seems the lucky owner of the DB5 up for auction will definitely be choosing the best of the bunch, since it racked up the longest time on screen (10mins, 21s) and holds the largest collection of gadgets including:

 • Bulletproof Windows

 • Rotating Registration Plates

 • Homing Device and Tracking Display

 • Smoke Screen

 • Oil Slick

 • Rear Bulletproof Screen

 • Dual Machine Guns

 • Ejector Seat

 • Tyre Slashers
