Here's how many bakkies have been sold in each province so far this year

The Gauteng province leads the line when it comes to bakkie sales recorded for June and year-to-date figures for 2018, according to data provided by Lightstone Auto.

People in Gauteng are also very fond of their bakkies with a total of 5 106 units sold during June this year alone. It is also ahead by some distance with year-to-date figures with 27 139 sold since the start of the year.

KZN follows Gauteng in second spot

The Northern Cape also records the lowest total for bakkies during June with a low of 300. Further up the table KZN and the Western Cape remain relatively close-knit if you look at sales in January.

The inclusion of new models throughout the year is likely to affect the numbers in certain areas as not all motorists require bakkies.
