More than 14 000 people were killed on South African roads last year with 90% of crashes due to human error, reports the AA.

Carte Blanche recently aired an episode, titled "How's my driving", which looked at the role SA motorists play in the dangerous state of our roads. We've included the full video at the end of this article.

We asked readers to rate their driving skills and alarmingly, more than 10% in our poll admitted to being reckless on the road.
